By the end of this course the student will:

1. Understand the background of spinal TB
2. Know the basic anatomy of the spine
3. Understand the basic pathophysiology and spread of spinal TB
4. Know the risk factors for developing spinal TB
5. Have an understanding of the clinical presentation of spinal TB
6. Understand the subjective and physical assessment required for an individual with suspected spinal TB
7. Understand the role of the primary health care clinic in the detection of spinal TB at an early stage
8. Understand the role of the primary health care clinic in the management of spinal TB
9. Know the conservative management, drug management and surgical management strategies for spinal TB
10. Be able to apply the algorithm to clinical case scenarios
